Michelle Ramirez, MS, CT, CLYL has most recently designed, implemented and overseen Tissue Donor Family Bereavement Support Programs providing support for donor families. Bereavement programs exceeded compliance requirements and engaged donor families in grief support groups, educational workshops, community resource referrals and creative arts activities that help in the healing process.
Community service includes designing and overseeing the Grief Care Ministry of Summit Christian Center in San Antonio, Texas, a diverse church congregation of over 3500 members. Michelle supports the congregational bereavement needs as well as community outreach through educational workshops, pastoral care and individual spiritual support through times of grief and loss.
Michelle has worked with various bereavement organizations to implement bereavement initiatives, campaigns and outreach.
Michelle has served as Chair and worked in the formation of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention South Texas Chapter and serves on the Children's Bereavement Center of South Texas Steering Committee.
Michelle has been Certified in Thanatology: Death, Dying and Bereavement through the Association for Death Education and Counseling since 2012 and currently serves on the Membership and Diversity and Inclusion Committees.
Her professional experience also includes Donate Life organizations, funeral home family services, faith-based organizations and grief support workshop creation/facilitation.
Michelle has been a griever of traumatic loss herself so she compassionately empathizes with the grievers she supports.
Hope for Grievers Bereavement Education strives to empower organizations and the bereaved individuals they support through bereavement programming consultation services, workshop facilitation, staff self-care facilitation and expert guidance in the field of Thanatology: Death, Dying and Bereavement.
